Life Is Too Short to Wait

If you've been following my personal journey with health, you'd know that I had a health scare last year that changed the way I look at everything.
Thankfully, it turned out okay. But for a little while, I had to sit with a question none of us ever want to ask ourselves.
What if my time isn't as endless as I've been assuming?
Here's the thing about being human... we save things for "one day."
The beautiful dress. The expensive perfume. The good dinner plates. The holiday we keep pushing back. The artwork we've always wanted, still sitting in the tube.
We tell ourselves we'll use them when the occasion calls for it.
But... what if today is the occasion?
That whole experience cracked something open in me. Life isn't guaranteed, and waiting for the "perfect moment" just means risking never experiencing the things we've been saving for it.
So now I wear my favourite clothes on ordinary Tuesdays. I buy myself flowers simply because they make me smile. I light the nice candle. I hang the artwork instead of leaving it rolled up, waiting for a wall that never comes.
I've stopped waiting for permission to enjoy my own life.
You don't need a birthday. You don't need an anniversary. You don't need someone else to decide you're worth celebrating.
Because, right now, you already are.
This is a gentle reminder to choose yourself. Choose joy. Wear the dress. Order the dessert. Buy yourself the flowers. Fill your home with colour.
Life is too precious to spend it waiting for someday.
Because you are the occasion. With love, Carolyn
